Our Attitude Towards Privacy Protection
Consider your membership a bond of privacy protection. Most websites these days are free for anyone to use and therefore generate revenue from advertising, which creates an incentive for those sites to disclose your personal information to agencies interested in marketing products or services to you. We generate the majority of our revenue from subscription fees, which enables us to protect your information while providing you with the best products and services. Additionally, even though we offer free subscriptions that include advertisements, we provide the same strong privacy guarantee to our free members. Basically, we think it is our duty to protect your privacy the same way we would like ours protected, so we will always work to safeguard your data.
Personal Information We Collect
If you decide to become a registered member, there is certain information that we will require from you. We obtain most of the information directly from our customers through forms and ongoing customer service. We will limit the amount of personal information we require to items needed to maintain your account and send you notifications, which at a minimum will include an email address. When you subscribe, your information is placed in a database and used to send your issues and occasional advertisements or special notices. In addition to personal details, our system will store financial information you provide, which includes but is not limited to assets and liabilities.
When you place an order, we will ask you for personal information, including your credit card number. Like all other parts of the site, we use a secure (SSL, encrypted) connection and require you to submit only the information needed to complete and fulfill your order. Credit card processing is performed by Stripe, the leader in online payment processing with industry-leading security. Credit card data is never stored by InvestAlert and is deleted from Stripe if/when you ever request for your account to be deleted.
In order to better understand your needs and tailor services to you, we may ask for additional personal information such as name, address, date of birth, contact details, and employment details. These additional personal details are voluntary and you may choose to omit the data. From time to time we may also request further information to help us improve our service to you.
We also collect information about use of the website, such as pages visited, frequency and duration and visit, and trading activities. We use this information to better understand how our members use the website so we may provide a better overall service.
We use Google Analytics to track usage patterns to our site. The data collected does not contain any personally identifying information. Occasionally, we store data about your web browser if we have detected an error with the site. The data only contains information about your device and is only used internally to diagnose and fix site issues.
Use & Disclosure of the Information We Collect
We will use information collected from you to provide the information and services requested by you and to improve the quality of our service. We will not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with anyone unless required by law enforcement or regulatory agencies that take the proper steps to officially request it.
Unless you are informed otherwise, the personal information we hold is used for:
- Establishing and managing your subscription
